Why? If He Knew?

 

So God created mankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27 (NIV)

If God knew Adam and Eve’s rebellion would cause all the grief and suffering in the world today then why did He go ahead and create them?  

I was contemplating this today as I was reading in Genesis and asked, “What did you expect to gain, God?” There are no gods who claim to have the full attributes Jehovah God claims to have, or can demand the fullest right of worship that He does. He holds all wisdom, power, and authority. In Him are no suggestions.

And yet knowing we would fail, He created mankind anyway. He did not wipe the slate clean when we failed and start anew. He is the only God in history who with perfect holiness offered Himself to reclaim a Creation broken and hostile to His open arms.

As I contemplated this, I realized He did so, that He might receive the highest honor and a glory greater in eternity than can ever be imagined or invented. What god of man’s making has done so? I found none in my research.

The Psalmist writes of the gods of man’s imaginings; “For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary (Psalm 96:5-6). How could a Being of ultimate power surrender Himself to so severe a punishment to restore us to a fellowship lost?

He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world. He knew ahead of time we would choose the wilderness, yet was ready to save and restore the flock.

So, then, what seems to put God into a box of incompetence that borders on a malevolent nature, brings instead to Him the highest honor and glory. Why did He do it anyway? Because He knew what the angels and we ourselves would proclaim in our praises of Him and would make the minions of the Devil tremble.

There are no actions of earth that can work us out of our sin and there are no words that can adequately express our gratitude when He has answered our wilderness bleatings. Thankfully, there are no empty gods to waste our time following. Our God is the One True and Living God. He has always known us. He has always been enough.

Así que Dios creó a la humanidad a su imagen, a imagen de Dios los creó; Él los creó tanto masculino como femenino. Génesis 1:27 (NVI)

¿Por qué? ¿Si lo sabía?

Si Dios sabía que la rebelión de Adán y Eva causaría todo el dolor y sufrimiento en el mundo actual, ¿por qué los creó? 

Hoy estaba reflexionando sobre esto mientras leía en Génesis y preguntaba: "¿Qué esperabas ganar, Dios?" No hay dioses que afirmen tener todos los atributos que Jehová Dios dice tener, ni que puedan exigir el derecho más pleno de adoración que tiene.  Posee toda la sabiduría, el poder y la autoridad. En Él no hay sugerencias.

Y sin embargo, sabiendo que fracasaríamos, creó a la humanidad de todos modos. No borró de cero cuando fracasamos y empezamos de nuevo. Es el único Dios en la historia que con perfecta santidad se ofreció para reclamar una Creación rota y hostil a Sus brazos abiertos.

Mientras reflexionaba sobre esto esta noche, me di cuenta de que lo hizo para recibir el mayor honor y una gloria mayor en la eternidad de lo que jamás se puede imaginar o inventar. ¿Qué dios de la creación del hombre lo ha hecho? No encontré ninguno en mi investigación.

El Salmista escribe sobre las imaginaciones de los dioses del hombre; "Porque todos los dioses de las naciones son ídolos, pero el SEÑOR hizo los cielos. El esplendor y la majestuosidad están ante él; la fuerza y la gloria están en su santuario (Salmo 96:5-6). ¿Cómo pudo un Ser de poder supremo entregarse a un castigo tan severo para devolvernos a una comunidad perdida?

Nos eligió en Él antes de la fundación del mundo. Sabía de antemano que elegiríamos la naturaleza, pero estaba dispuesto a salvar y restaurar el rebaño.

Así, lo que parece encasillar a Dios en una caja de incompetencia que roza la naturaleza malévola, le trae en cambio el honor y la gloria más altos. ¿Por qué lo hizo, de todos modos? Porque sabía lo que los ángeles y nosotros mismos proclamaríamos en nuestras alabanzas hacia Él y harían temblar a los secuaces del Diablo.

No hay acciones de la tierra que puedan sacarnos de nuestro pecado y no hay palabras que puedan expresar adecuadamente nuestra gratitud cuando Él ha respondido a nuestros balidos en el desierto. Por suerte, no hay dioses vacíos a los que perder el tiempo siguiendo. Nuestro Dios es el Único Dios Verdadero y Vivo. Siempre nos ha conocido. Siempre ha sido suficiente.
