We all have wondered what is in our future. There are some who dedicate their lives to telling others what kind of future they will have. It is however true that even the most gifted prognosticators will readily admit they cannot be 100% correct 100% of the time. If they were ancient Hebrew prophets, they would have to be all correct all the time. The penalty for one wrong call was stiff as it placed God’s perfect and holy character in question. According to God’s commandment in Deuteronomy 13:1-5; the penalty for attributing a false word from the LORD was death.
The Bible’s
prophetic predictions cover approximately 1/3 of Scripture. It can frighten
some and cause antagonism in others. I was once taken to task by a very angry Christian
sister who snapped, “You have no business studying prophecy. It is not for us
to know!” I asked, “If God did not want us to know why did He tell His prophets
to record it for us?” She had no answer except to say, “It is not meant for
us!” but could not Scripturally defend her position.
Some may
point to the seven thunders in Revelation 10:4 as cause to have nothing to do
with God’s prophetic timetable. It was a case where God did not want us to know
a particular instance in that prophetic picture. He told John not to write what
they said, but never forbid searching out His prophetic Scriptural itinerary.
There are no other prohibitions in the Word of God as such. If He does not want
us to know He will say so, or leave that instance within a gray area of
understanding, that perhaps we may discover at a future time.
The Lord had
you in mind when He prepared your subsequent tomorrows, and He says only He has
the right to be your future. It is a future of freedom and forgiveness for you
and He demands you look no further. Only He will counsel you in the way you
should go, and His guiding and protecting hand will be upon you. His imminent
promise of redemption and renewal of a broken universe into a brand-new heaven
and earth is your eternal legacy (Revelation 21:1).
‘God is
not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent [of what
He has promised]. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will
He not make it good?’ (Numbers 23:19). Beyond that it is all in His hands and is coming to pass. You
can be excited about what He has in hand for you in an eternity of wondrous
marvels. As He reveals it to you, you can say with all assurance, “Ah, yes, I
knew that.” And because of Him, you truly did.

Todos nos hemos preguntado qué nos depara el futuro.
Hay algunos que dedican su vida a decirle a los demás qué tipo de futuro tendrán.
Sin embargo, es cierto que incluso los pronosticadores más dotados admitirán
fácilmente que no pueden ser 100% correctos el 100% de las veces. Si fueran
profetas hebreos de la antigüedad, tendrían que estar todos en lo correcto todo
el tiempo. El castigo por una decisión equivocada era severo, ya que ponía en
duda el carácter perfecto y santo de Dios. Según el mandamiento de Dios en
Deuteronomio 13:1-5; el castigo por atribuir una palabra falsa de Jehová era la
muerte.
Las predicciones proféticas de la Biblia cubren
aproximadamente 1/3 de las Escrituras. Puede asustar a algunos y causar
antagonismo en otros. Una vez una hermana cristiana muy enojada me reprendió y
me espetó: "No tienes por qué estudiar la profecía. ¡No nos corresponde a
nosotros saberlo!" Le pregunté: "Si Dios no quería que lo supiéramos,
¿por qué les dijo a sus profetas que lo registraran por nosotros?" Ella no
tuvo otra respuesta que decir: "¡No es para nosotros!", pero no pudo
defender bíblicamente su posición.
Algunos pueden señalar los siete truenos en
Apocalipsis 10:4 como causa que no tiene nada que ver con el calendario
profético de Dios. Era un caso en el que Dios no quería que conociéramos un
caso particular en ese cuadro profético. Le dijo a Juan que no escribiera lo
que ellos decían, pero que nunca le prohibiera buscar su itinerario profético
de las Escrituras. No hay otras prohibiciones en la Palabra de Dios como tal.
Si Él no quiere que lo sepamos, lo dirá, o dejará esa instancia dentro de un
área gris de entendimiento, que tal vez podamos descubrir en un tiempo futuro.
El Señor te tenía en mente cuando preparó tus mañanas
subsiguientes, y dice que solo Él tiene el derecho de ser tu futuro. Es un
futuro de libertad y perdón para ti, y Él exige que no mires más allá. Solo Él
te aconsejará en el camino que debes seguir, y Su mano guiadora y protectora
estará sobre ti. Su inminente promesa de redención y renovación de un universo
roto en un cielo y una tierra completamente nuevos es tu legado eterno
(Apocalipsis 21:1).
"Dios no es hombre para mentir, ni hijo de
hombre para arrepentirse [de lo que ha prometido]. ¿Lo ha dicho, y no lo hará?
¿O es que ha hablado, y no lo hará bueno? (Números 23:19). Más
allá de eso, todo está en Sus manos y se está cumpliendo. Puedes estar
emocionado por lo que Él tiene a mano para ti en una eternidad de maravillas
maravillosas. A medida que Él te lo revela, puedes decir con toda seguridad:
"Ah, sí, yo lo sabía". Y gracias a Él, realmente lo hiciste.
